JANUARY 5, 2016

Dear Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and a very happy New Year! As I prepare to return to Washington, D.C., for a new session of Congress, filled with hope and new possibilities, I want to share with you some highlights of 2015.

I worked on an array of legislative issues, with a particular focus on national security, cybersecurity, and workforce development in my capacities as a senior member of House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees, and as co-chair of both the Cybersecurity Caucus and the Career and Technical Education Caucus. I personally introduced 21 pieces of legislation, and three of those proposals were signed into law.

Back at home, my team remains dedicated to delivering high-quality constituent services, working tirelessly day in and day out to help residents of the Second Congressional District. We resolved more than 700 cases for our constituents this year, and sent out 26,579 pieces of constituent correspondence. I hosted 10 public forums, attended 376 events in Rhode Island, and also reached out with thousands of posts on social media.

It has been a year with many ups and downs, challenges and opportunities, in Congress and back home in Rhode Island. But through it all, I remain so grateful that you allow me to represent you and our great state. Thank you for giving me that honor in 2015, and I look forward to continuing to serve you in 2016.
