Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) released a statement following the release of emails between Donald Trump Jr. and Robert Goldstone:

“Donald Trump Jr.’s willingness to meet with a Russian national who was described as having information that was ‘part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump’ is a betrayal of our shared values, and their exchange may well have been illegal. There can be no doubt that Donald Trump Jr. was at the very least open to collaborating with Russia to advance his father’s campaign, and it is imperative that the special counsel fully investigate the circumstances surrounding this meeting. President Trump must also immediately come clean about any and all meetings he and his staff took with Russians during and after the campaign, and he must begin treating Russia like an adversary that targeted the underpinnings of our democracy not as honorable partner in the community of nations.”
