Langevin Names Victor Morente Communications Director

WARWICK, RI -- Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) today announced that Victor Morente has joined his staff as Communications Director. Morente previously served as Press Secretary for the City of Providence where he was a spokesperson and primary media contact for several municipal departments and Mayor Jorge O. Elorza's Executive Office.

"Victor has demonstrated a deep commitment to public service throughout his career," said Langevin. “His proven public relations experience will enable me to keep Rhode Islanders informed of my work in Congress and ensure that I remain accessible and responsive to the constituents I serve. I am thrilled to welcome him to our team.”

Morente was raised in Providence's South Side and is a Providence Public Schools graduate. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and public administration with honors from Rhode Island College (RIC).

As a bilingual communications professional, Morente has overseen communications operations that have reached audiences locally, nationally, and internationally. For his public service and community advocacy, Morente was recognized as a Latino pioneer as part of Rhode Island Latino Arts’ Nuestras Raices Series in 2019. Morente is a graduate of the New Leaders Council Rhode Island fellowship program and served on the founding board of Millennial Rhode Island.
