Reminders for Sandy

Oct 29, 2012
    Hurricane Sandy

Dear Friends,

As we begin to experience the impact of Hurricane Sandy, here are key resources to keep in mind and numbers to copy in case you lose power:

Please report outages or downed power lines to National Grid at: 1-800-465-1212

Some of their key reminders:

  • When an outage occurs, unplug sensitive appliances such as VCRs, TVs, computers, stereos, air conditioners and microwaves to protect them when your service is restored.
  • Keep a corded (traditional analog) telephone or a charged cell phone available. Cordless phones don't work if the power goes out.
  • Click here for further information from National Grid.

From the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency:

You can track the storm online through the National Weather Service.

For questions about the latest information on the storm, call 211 or visit www.riema.ri.gov.

                                        Sincerely,
