November 7, 2009 Historic Health Insurance Reform Passes House - WARWICK, RI - Congressman Jim Langevin today proudly cast his vote for the Affordable Health Care for America Act. This legislation combined the work of three House Committees into one bill and is the result of many months of hearings and public debate. It is estimated to ultimately provide health insurance coverage to 96 percent of all Americans, in addition to instituting reforms that will improve the quality and reduce the cost of care for all citizens.

October 29, 2009 House Unveils Revised Health Insurance Reform Bill - WARWICK, RI - Congressman Jim Langevin today joined his Democratic colleagues on the steps of the US Capitol to announce the details of the Affordable Health Care for America Act. This new legislation combines the three House Committee bills into one and is the result of numerous hearings and public debate. It is estimated to cover 96 percent of all Americans. The bill is slated to come to the Floor for debate and vote as early as next week.

October 9, 2009 Langevin's Respite Care Bill Puts Families First - WARWICK, RI – Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) today announced $200,000 in funding for the Lifespan Respite Care program at the West Warwick Senior Center. This Lifespan Respite Care grant was awarded to the state Department of Elderly Affairs, which, in turn, will partner with the Parent Support Network in Johnston, the Diocese of Providence and The Point in Warwick. Nationally, a total of $2.3 million will be disbursed to 12 states.
