Why people buy flags:

1. For a special event (e.g., birthday, anniversary, boy scout ceremony)
2. In memory of someone
3. A new flag to display outside a home or business
4. A thoughtful and different gift

To purchase a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol Building:

1. please send a check to Congressman Jim Langevin, 109 Cannon House Office Building, Washington, D.C. 20515
2. make the check payable to "Rep. Langevin Office Supply Account"
3. each U.S. flag comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.  The certificate can include a personalized message for an event and/or person (example: For John Doe on his 35th birthday - Please limit the personal message to three sentences.)
4. flags can also be flown on a specific date.  Please provide at least two weeks (14 days) advance notice to allow time to fly the flag on the requested date, and include the occasion for which it is to be flown (example: a flag flown on an anniversary date).
5. include a mailing address for the flag
6. allow 2-3 weeks for delivery for U.S. flags
7. complete and fill out the following Flag Request Form
